On June 29th, my great niece was born!!  My nephew, Shaun, and his wife, Sara, welcomed a beautiful baby girl named Sofia Kay.  She was 9 lbs 5 oz & 20 inches long.  Baby and mommy are doing just fine & should be going home soon.  I won't be able to meet her personally until September, but you can be sure I'll have plenty of pictures when we get back!

 

This weekend we'll be celebrating Ally's birthday early.  Kendra is able to make it down for the holiday weekend, so it just seemed like a good idea to celebrate while she's here.  Saturday will be our family celebration and Sunday will be the friends celebration.  If the weather permits, we'll also take Ally to see her first 4th of July fireworks.  I think she'll really like the colors and music, hopefully they won't have too many loud bangs. I'll try to get some pictures while we're there.

Time has really gone by since I've been able to get on here to update everything!  I really don't get much time to actually type now that Ally demands a big part of my time.  Whenever I get close to the computer anymore, she gets really mad with me!  She either wants to sit on my lap, which makes typing really hard, or just plain doesn't want me in front of the computer.  It's ended up being much easier updating our status & adding pictures to my Facebook account.  So!  If you want to be up to date on things, then the Facebook account will have it all.  If you'd like to be added to my friends so you can see the stuff, then just let me know...I'll be happy to add you.

 

We had a great visit with Grandma Schmidt for the last several weeks.  It was awesome having her down here & we really hated to see her head back to Iowa.  Ally was looking for her this morning before going to the sitter's house. She kept walking into the spare room saying "G-maw? G-maw".  I told her Grandma went back home & that we'd see her soon & she said, "G-maw bye-bye. Ok".  Of course all that made me cry...I'm such a baby!   

 

But now that Mom is back home, life had to get back to normal.  So instead of being able to sleep in a little on Monday, because Ally would be staying with Grandma, I had to get up early to get her to the sitter's.  Somehow, I turned off my alarm but then ended up sleeping an additional 1/2 hr!  I cut everything pretty close, but still got to work on time....Ally even had breakfast, hair brushed, teeth brushed & of course dressed.  Quite a whirlwind morning, which slowed down to a crawling afternoon!  Thankfully, evening has finally arrived & now we can enjoy the rest of our day!

We had such a nice weekend, we decided to take Ally to the zoo.  She had a great time & was so tired by the time we left!  She saw a lot of animals that she recognized & really took to the monkeys, giraffes & zebras.  They had quite a few baby animals there too, so we got plenty of pictures of them! I'm going to upload the pictures of our trip, so check out the album!

Well, Dad & Kathy made it here ok & we went down to Williamsburg yesterday.  Ally had her pictures taken with the Easter Bunny, which I will add to the photo album as soon as I get them scanned in, & we stopped at a few of the outlet stores as well.  It was a great day & we made it home just in time for Kendra to pull up in front of the house.  Joey grilled a great meal & we were all tired, happily full & content.

 

Ally went potty for the very first time yesterday morning too!  It took her a little sitting, but we had a mini-celebration when she finally went.  She was so proud of herself & started saying "I potty" over & over again.  It was so cute!

 

We also got our Blackberry Storms in & played with them all day yesterday.  I gotta say that I'm really liking the phone a lot.  Joey isn't too sure how he feels about it yet.  I heard good things & bad things about the phone, but so far I'm still liking it.  I'll let you know if that should change...there will probably be a pretty big complaint blogged if something changes.

The last few days have had me busy getting the house cleaned & ready for our visitors this weekend.  Dad & Kathy are due to be in tomorrow night & will stay for the weekend.  Kendra will be coming down Friday night & staying for the rest of the weekend.  Joey has Good Friday off & I'm taking a vacation day, so we can take Dad & Kathy down to Williamsburg for the day.  We haven't had much success in getting time to take Ally to see the Easter Bunny, so we may try to squeeze that in on Friday as well.  It's been pretty crazy around here, but at least the house is clean....until Ally gets all her toys back out.

 

It was also time to get new cell phones this week.  The "new every two" deal I have with the phones came up & since we've been having problems with our phones, I decided to upgrade.  I've been wanting a Blackberry for a while & since Verizon has the buy one get one deal for them it seemed like a good time to get one.  I'll be getting the phones by Fed Ex sometime tomorrow, so Kendra can help me figure them out this weekend!
